Camera Department
The Camera Department is responsible for creating and capturing the overall photographic impression of a film.
Recommended skills for working in the Camera Department:
Strong technical knowledge of digital / film processes and camera equipment.
In-depth knowledge of lighting techniques (Director of Photography).
A combination of practical, technical and creative expertise.
Able to adapt ideas instantly.
Able to make decisions quickly.
Precise attention to detail.
Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies.
Diplomacy and sensitivity when working with artists and crew.
Physical stamina and strength.
Ability to imagine, research, plan and communicate an artistic vision within budget (Director of Photography).
A combination of demonstrated skills such as knowledge of photography, painting, research, project management and computer skills. Requires in depth knowledge of, and feel for the camera, as well as actual experience of handling camera equipment.
