Transportation Department

The Transportation Department is in charge of scheduling the pickup, delivery, maintenance, rental, purchase and movement of all production vehicles. It is the art of putting big trucks in little spaces.

  • Ability to source and rent vehicles and plan within budget

  • Knowledge of the media production industry

A combination of demonstrated skills such as a good sense of direction and ability to drive a variety of vehicles such as 5 ton trucks, 15 passenger vans, Class A motor homes, expensive picture vehicles and tow trucks. The ability to drive standard and automatic transmission, boats, snowmobiles, 1 ton cube vans skyjack, forklift and scissor lifts and motorcycles is an asset.

+ Transportation Coordinator

The Transportation Coordinator is responsible for the pickup, delivery, maintenance, rental and purchase of all production vehicles. They coordinate the movement of production vehicles, the transportation of crew and cast, as well as the deliveries within budget as required by production.

+ Driver Captain

The Driver Captain works with the Transport Coordinator and is responsible for all on set movement including scheduling transportation to and from set for cast and/or crew members, any pick ups or deliveries required by the production and scheduling the transportation crew and drivers.

+ Honeywagon Driver

The Honeywagon Driver is responsible for the maintenance and cleanliness of the trailers and honeywagons.

+ Mechanic

The Mechanic repairs and maintains vehicles.

+ Cast Driver

The Cast Driver is responsible for the transportation of cast members.

+ Driver

The Driver is responsible for transporting the cast and crew to and from set.

+ Unit Move Driver

The Unit Move Driver drives all vehicles, including those that require a Class 1 license, from one location to another. Class 1 Drivers License required.

+ Unit Move Driver

The Unit Move Driver drives vehicles from one location to another.
